Santa Monica has a new work out place that I love, and I wanted to share with you why!

I've been working out at Basecamp Fitness for the last 6 weeks.  Basecamp is not your traditional gym. It's a circuit training designed program that keeps you moving for 35 minutes. Every minute you go from cycling on a bike to doing a floor exercise, and each day the exercise program is different. So one day you may be focusing on arms and shoulders, while some other days you'll be focusing on gluts and abs.

The cool thing is that you don't have to come up with your own routine each day. They plan it for you, and they do a great job at mixing it up, so if you do a leg day on Monday, the next day you'll do something different and so on.

I like the mix of weights, to athletic development to balance and coordination that they throw at you.

Just like with any other group fitness class, it's up to you to stay withing your limits with weights, repetitions, etc.  If you do, you are not likely to injure yourself.

I love also that in 35 minutes, 30 or general exercise and 5 of abs at the end, you can get a great work out in.  I do recommend that you get there a few minutes early to warm up, and stay a few minutes after to stretch!
